*Meatball Pizza Bread

Ingredients:
1 loaf of flat, rustic style bread
2 TB butter
2 tsp. garlic powder
3 cups of your favorite jarred or homemade pasta sauce
8-10 oz. frozen meatballs, thawed in refrigerator
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 TB dried Italian spice blend
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Slice loaf in half horizontally. Spread the halves with the butter and sprinkle evenly with the garlic powder. Place halves cut sides up onto a baking sheet. Place in oven for 10-15 minutes until surface is lightly browned and crisped. Remove from oven.

Using 2 cups of the pasta sauce, spread it evenly over each half of the toasted bread. Evenly cover both halves with the meatballs. Top the meatballs with the remaining pasta sauce. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over both halves. Sprinkle the tops with the Italian spice blend and salt and pepper to taste.

Bake in the 400 degree oven for about 15 until cheese is melted and meatballs are heated through. Switch the oven to Broil.  Broil the pizzas for just 1-2 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and browning slightly.

Remove from oven, slice into pieces and serve while hot.
